About Rooted

The love which Mary Williams has for genealogy began long before she earned her bachelor’s degrees in History and English. Strangely, it was born in the sunlit parlor of a funeral home in Sparta, Tennessee as she helped her sister pour over generations of records for family members’ burials.

Mary is a professional genealogist, historian, and writer who will tend to your family tree as carefully as her own.
